“An equipping conference for Canadian Christian women in leadership, in the church and in the marketplace.” After being in Calgary in 2006, LW 2008 is back in Toronto! MBs are one of thirteen partners in this life-changing event.

National Scholarships for MB Leading Women Conference participants

The Canadian Conference of MB Churches will once again be offering scholarships to assist MB women from across the country to participate. Those who attended Leading Women 2006 received between $50 and $300 each nationally, according to the distance travelled.

They accessed multiple sources of support:

• national and provincial scholarships,
• assistance from their congregation,
• their own savings,
• and even Christmas gifts from friends and family.

All of this made it possible for 56 MB women to participate in this life-changing leadership development conference with over 300 Christian women from across Canada. News reports from LW 2006 are available in the MB Herald.

Scholarships

Apply online for a National MB Travel Scholarship at CCMBC: National Travel Scholarship Application, and have 2 people fill out the Travel Scholarship Reference form at CCMBC: National Travel Scholarship Reference Form. Application deadline: November 21, 2007.

The fine print

Applicants must have been attending and serving in a volunteer or staff position in a Canadian Mennonite Brethren Church for at least six months in order to be considered. Reasonable care will be exercised to ensure an equitable distribution of funds to applicants from each province.

Leading Women MB dinner

MB Leaders attending Leading Women 2008 are invited to a supper meeting, Friday, February 29th, 5–7 pm.

Let’s gather to build connections, listen to each other and strategize for continued growth and effectiveness as developing leaders.
